I knew it! ALDCNR Proposing Further WMA Access Restrictions.

Eric This sucks. I have never hunted in Alabama so I don't have any experience with the root issues and causes. Sorry if this post sounds like I am preaching to you but I want to express a different point of view for whoever may read this thread. Access (having a place to hunt) is what I see...

Excellent Podcast on Today's Waterfowl Populations Just Released by Ramsey Russell.

Yes we have overlapped in many professional situations. Todd has always been on the academic/research side of waterfowl, while I spent my career on the management side of things.

It is only legal to release captive raised mallards. There have been several efforts to ban the release of captive mallards but some shooting establishments in the Atlantic Flyway have resisted those efforts. As you can imagine it becomes political quickly.

    Dr. Phil Levretsky

His work is confirming some of the negative aspects of releasing captive reared mallards that we had long suspected but he (and colleagues) are uncovering even more negative consequences. I also recommend listening to him on the different podcasts.

Duck Band Recovery Models and Data Analysis

Lmao. A "D" for skipping the final, hmmm. Why attend at all? Eric, you are probably the only one here who would read this for fun. AHM uses bayesian hierarchal models to predict population size but survival rate and recovery rates from banding data is used in the integrated population...

    Brain Trust question....tankless water heaters

I put in a propane Rinnai 3 years ago. I descale it annually. It is great but you do have to wait for the water to get heated and to your faucet. I like it but I might have installed a loop system in a new build. I have a well so not too concerned with wasting water but you do have to wait...

    What's on your work bench?-April

Nice job folks. Patrick those are some expressive blocks. They already have a nice patina to them. Nothing duck related on the work bench. A jewelry box for my soon to be daughter-in-law and the ring box for the wedding.
