Okay okay, let's get some ideas posted for the new logo and I'll work on some preliminary sketches. Any photo reference material will come in handy as well. I'll keep my eye on this post..............Kevin

How about an ole' timer hunting out of a BBSB, surrounded by a few dekes and shooting a side x side up at a pair of blacks. Really like your pencil art. Not to take anything from you... cause I know you'll come thru, but there's been many who have said that they'll make up a new logo in the past. How about the bronze that Kelly Peterson did. How about B.Ward the design student. How about Bill Savoie who has a staff of designers and said something about "karma". How about Ed Gagne who is "wicked with logos". I'm sure there are many others. Have all these members kept up their end? Is there some sort of red tape holding it up? Anyway, can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'll second what Charlie said.

Mike, for as much as you jump up and down about logos, try designing something yourself and see how quick and easy it is.

No Charlie don't get me wrong. What I'm saying is that there has been alot of activity around this subject for a long time. You can look back to '06 and there was a need for a new logo then. Anybody who offers their free time to donate something for all of us is fantastic. It may not be that they haven't done what they said they would do. Maybe it's caught up somewhere else, like at the printers or maybe not.

Hey Kevin,

If you do get something drawn out, do us all a favor and send it to Eric and Steve to look at first, otherwise there will be a bunch of guys saying it's the greatest logo ever and asking where to send the money, meanwhile it might not be quite what Eric and Steve are looking for.

Just trying to keep the peanut gallery in check.

Chuck, that may be the best aproach. I'll get some ideas from the membership, draw something up and send it to the moderators first............Kevin
 
I still like the study plans idea since this whole schmear came about because of building a boat and the name of the site is "duckboats". Maybe a boat in progress with a guy filleting or something.
 
kevin i dont mean to hijack your thread here but this is in response to mike, as i did mention im good with logos in a previous thread. heres what ive got

I remember a bass club almost splitting up over logos. And then a few years later, a dog club almost doing the same thingy. Sure is weird folks get so riled over logos. I remember the first duckboats logo, and my hat being hand delivered to me. As long as this one is that way, im kewl with anything. travis

I'll hand deliver another this coming duck season if you like. Thomas and I will be on Black River again and could hook up somewhere during the trip.
 
ya know my wife watched the 70s show for like 5 years before she ever figgered out the sitting in a circle and laughing scene of every show. bwhahahaha. travis
