Today's update comes with a bit more urgency. Tom had a trip to Mayo yesterday and was told his labs were not looking good. He is very weak and experiencing confusion. His platelet count is very low. He is scheduled to receive platelets at Methodist every other day, starting tomorrow. Deb is understandably overwhelmed and they both need prayers and support in however you can help. I know she would have loved to have spoken to many family & friends before this posting - but it is exhausting keeping up with it all. Please understand...this is a new journey for all of us.
Communication by texting is best at this time - and Deb can respond at her convenience.... or feel free to contact me (701-371-1050) if there are questions I might be able to answer; or you know of resources for us to reach out to for help with care for Tom & Deb (and Booker & Charlie). Caregiver support is essential at this time. I will try to keep you updated as time goes by.
We believe in the power of prayer - so please keep them both in your daily thoughts and prayers.🙏
We continue to hang on to HOPE. Miracles do happen.
Thank you and God Bless."
If there is anything I can do representing DBHF, let me know. I'm a short drive from Tom and the hospital he is at.
