16 vfoot cackler desing cedar stripped hull make an offer

I bought this boat from a well known member with all of the intentions on finishing it but I do not have the time to do this with running a business. Here are a few pics.I paid 1200 for it two years ago and I will take 800 for it or trade for guns. This boat has had no work by me all of the other work was done By David Clark, all of you know him as he is top notch. This boat has been inside my heated climate controlled machine shop since I brought it home. Thanks for looking

hi richard, i find this project interesting but i wouldnt no where to start with this. that maybe the reason for the lack in replies. could you describe how one would proceed in completing this project? i have no experience with cedar strip built boats... thanks, mark

jim, this isnt the same as the snowgoose or any other devlin. so how do i do the bulkheads, knees, decking, floor and other parts without any plans to go by? i dont have the experience to just figure it out. richard, any ideas? best, mark

Jim is right the boat would be done along the same lines as the snow goose would be.install the bulkheads and glass the corners of them, then glass the bottom and flip and do the top.

I wish it were closer! I'm starting to plan a build this winter and so far the recommendations are for me to build a cackler for my type of hunting. This would of been a great start.

Were do you live?If you are getting ready to build one like this coming to get this versus making another will save so much time and money its crazy. If I remember correctly David said he had 3000 just in materials for this the way it sits.

Sorry, didn't have my location in the correct spot in the profile. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. Its a 1100 mile trip down your way one way.

Nova scotia wow.Get me on some big game up there next fall and I will deliver it next year myself!!!Heck I will even throw in a trailer to.

Hi, do you still have the boat and is it near SC!
I needed yesterday!
I have started a devlin scaup, but would love to finish the cackler.

Ok make me an offer I want this out of my shop and I have no intensions of finishing the hull.I will take a treade on guns also let me know what you have.

It has a new home.... made safely in just 7 1/2 hours. Trailered well on my sneakbox trailer! She will be stored away for a year while the project ferments in my mind... sweet hull, David did some nice work on her, hope I will do it justice when I finish it.

Thanks Richard....

Dave
