Found out my SOS still inflates.

No, I didn't fall in. I bought a SOS manual inflate life jacket over 5 years ago. Been meaning to try it out in the summer with waders, coat, etc. on and see if the thing still works. Never got around to it. This morning while picking up the dekes I went to toss my anchor out and got the line wrapped around the yellow pull 'thingy' and POP - It works!! Luckly I have a spare CO2 cartrage to install. Now to figure out how to get it all back into a slim, trim package.

The best thing about these inflateables is that I actually wear the thing. Always when underway to and from.

Did you feel like Chris Farley in Tommy Boy when he was pretending to be a flight attendant? I was thinking about pulling the cord on mine to see if it still worked..but the extra cylinder is somewhere where I could find it easily....

Yea, I felt really stupid. Here I am out duck hunting - all camoed up, boat grassed, etc. and I'm standing up with this bright yellow horse collar around my neck. I did find out that even if the vest webbing isn't real tight, it will tighten up quite a bit when fully inflated.

It happened about 9:30 this morning and it is still full and tight as a drum - no, I'm not still wearing it. Gives me some confidence that in an emergency it won't just inflate and then all leak out before I make it to shore.

Oh, and the GE's were on a kamakazi mission this morning.

Now that you mention it, I did hear the same gurgling noise he makes when I miss a gimme at 20 yards. I feel much better because I always thought that noise was a sign of disgust. If he's just laughing it makes it much easier to take.

Hope you're having a good season.

Pete
