Atlas gloves?

i purchased the 495's a couple years ago, very happy with them. i believe they are the same as the 490's but the 495's have a removable liner.

490 is the best glove i've come across so far. definately the warmest. not good for shooting but picking up decoys and driving the boat they are the best.

I and most guys I hunt with use 495's. Keep an extra pair fo liners and you are good to go for a weeks hunt. I've had the same pair for at least 5 years.

What's the difference between the 460 and the 490's? Which do you like better?

Don't forget the little lady when you are ordering - the atlas 370s are great for weeding. I don't know your location, but that special lady could probably use a pair of 495s for herself for snow shoveling too.

Seattle marine has them all at great prices.

That is me, just trying to help! Treat your woman right.

Jen actually has about a dozen pairs of Atlas gloves. A big wad of 370 garden gloves (I have some too), she has a pair of 395s for clamming that do get used to shovel snow and a pair of long ones for clamming that we havent tried. You can't beat the 495s for outdoor work in the extreme cold and wet if you need a glove that has dexterity (vs a mitten) - every man woman and child should have a pair!

Thanks for the replies.

Found the 460's just after I made this post. They have the 460's on sale for $11.99 and free shipping at Palmflex.com.

So 465 or 495 for decoy pick up workand running the boat? My guess is the 465 might have better dexterity? Are they the same liner in both? How are these sized? Dave

Yes, they work very well for running the boat and pulling the rig. 465s are a thinner glove, but that relates more to durability then to dexterity from what I’ve seen. They both will work for you, but the blue are what you see most commercial fishermen wearing around here. The "5" on the end designates the removable liner, the "0" means the liner is integral. I like the removable liners for drying at the end of the day (although the integral liner gloves dry surprisingly well in the dryer) and I think they are warmer. Every winter hunter should have 2 pairs of 495s with a couple extra liners.

They are sized as regular gloves, just order your regular size, from what I've seen.

I purchased a few pairs this year. Took them sea duck hunting this past weekend and they work great. Pulling in long lines and decoys went well. I dont like wearing gloves so I was going bare handed. The cold doesnt bother my hands at all but the gloves are nice. I wore them to pull the lines and pack up. well worth the low price and I love the color!!!

If you want more dexterity, use the 495 removable liner gloves and use the military wool glove liners, they are a little thinner yet just as warm....
The 490's are ok, but take longer to dry, when you're using them everyday thats an issue, plus they have a tendency to pull out of the glove and are a pain to shove back in...
If you really need more warmth, try to find the Nokia mitts, they have a "grit" no slip finish and with removable liners, again, I prefer the wool inserts, mitt or finger.

Ditto - 495s for me and most, if not all, my hunting companions. Still on my 1st pair that are near 20 years old. Extra liners so I always have dry gloves in the morning. One of those "best thing I ever bought" items.
