This is the way "M" mountain looked early this morning, from our backyard, just as the sun broke the eastern horizon. Believe it or not that house across the arroyo from us is a 1/4 mile away. It is hard to imagine that just several weeks ago, a 192 point ram (desert bighorn) was taken from this area that you can see.

This morning around 5:00 I checked on the Rio Grande's flow and found it to be half of what it was just a week ago when I had that nice little channel where I was actually getting a few ducks. It was flowing at almost 900cfs and now it was at 450cfs. My little channel has since dried up and now I'm wondering what it will be like for the rest of our season. I know we were 75% behind in snow pack earlier this month. If we do get some winter snows that will help us out a lot. Things are pretty dry around here. By this summer we will find out what kind of impact water has on us. No doubt about it.
