A Mixed Bag Yesterday

It was a wanderful day yesterday on the water. Decided to skip work and go hunt ducks in the wind. Great chioce. "River" found the water to be cold and rough. Approx 31 degrees. Things are starting to ice up a bit. 1st pic is of a drake goldeneye swimming in the dekes. 2nd pic is of 3 drake mallards coming into my set. 3rd pic is a flock of redheads across the river flying downstream. 4th pic is of "River" retrieving a beautiful drake widgeon. 5th pic is the end of the dayIMG_5293.JPGIMG_5299.JPGIMG_5336.JPGIMG_5308.JPGIMG_5312.JPG

Nice pictures Gary, Like the looks of your boat.Although I would'nt give My chocolate lab a perm. :) ) He looks nice too.

Gary, we pick up our AWS pup on the 12th ... my youngest and I were going through the posts this AM when we came across this excellent post were happy to see an AWS in action !

Is that an Estuary? Love that boat.

A.

Great post. I love that Estuary. Wish I still had ours but just didn't get to use it enough.

let's see some pics of some of those dekes. That GE hen is great.

Thanks for sharing.

Great hunt! Great Pictures! What a great place it looks to be and a colorful bag full of fun for you and the AWS. A buddy of mine down here in FL, Capt Jeff has had several AWS and his first AWS Hershey (RIP) was the first UKC hunting retriever champion. Cool dogs!

Great pictures Gary. I like the goldeneye picture the best. You have a nice looking boat too. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

hi gary, great pictures! are you happy with the estuary so far? looks great. how does she run with the 25 on the back? great looking decoy rig as well. would love to see a closeup of your dekes sometime. best, mark

Andrew-- Good luck with your new AWS puppy. I won't change a thing about mine. Incredible personality, and drive. River is three this yr. and 68 lbs.

Mark -- I really like the Estuary, Friday I was in 35mph sustained winds and it performed very well. Also I love all the room in it. Lots of decoy storage.

Todd-- Im not that far away from you. I always enjoy your post and story's. Keep them coming.

Kris -- The coot decoys are made of cedar, and the carvers name is Jeff Stary If you would like his website let me know.

David -- Thanks for making such a great boat. I couldn't be happier. Its got so much room and decoy storage. I love it. River really likes the dodger blind. She will probably be able to hear longer in her life sitting behind me instaed of besidesme.
