The Art of Boatbuilding Videos -- not necessarily duck related

Maybe there are many on this great forum who already have seen these series. I only found them recently and have been mesmerized by the talents of this man.

He is Bob Emser, a sculptor, boat builder, tool maker, and apparently one talented fellow. From what I see and read, he takes his inspiration for art from boats and airplanes. He had videos of boats he built, but he also builds incredibly beautiful hand tools. He also casts and shapes brass and bronze hardware for the boats he builds, which I find amazing.

He has Instagram and Facebook pages and puts content on Patreon for subscribers, too.

My wife thinks I'm nuts as I sit for long periods of time watching his videos. They are fascinating, and actually very calming, too.

If you haven't seen his series, check it out. I think the audience on this page will enjoy his videos.

Joe,

I have watched his videos. No doubt Bob is very talented. I wish he would post videos of finishing the Haven he is working on. Lou Sauzedde is another good boatbuilder to watch.

  1. Yes sir, I do enjoy Lou's videos, too. But I'm not ever going to attach a circular saw blade to a grinder the way he did! That man is a genius

Good morning, Joe~

I thoroughly enjoy the work of both builders. And, yes, Lou is a fabulous teacher but pays a little less attention to safety than I am comfortable with.

All the best,

SJS

Steve,

I think Lou approaches it from professional boatbuilder percpective versus Bob on Art of Boatbuilding doing it as a hobby. I appreciate both approaches.
