Morton and I decided to cancel our brant hunting trip due to unsafe weather. It's not that it's cold here, but it's a south wind with heavy rain and in effect the whole bay just boils in those conditions. We finally found someone who will actually go hunting with us ; ) and it's just not a good idea to risk it with a new guy, so we bagged. Plus, bird numbers are down this year as the weather is warm and the winds are mostly southern. No reason to pull up stakes and fly south and no train to take them...

We are going pheasant hunting instead and we'll get wet but so what. I was really looking forward to the brant opener, but we'll have to settle for white meat instead.
