Weather update from the northern plains

Finished out the pheasant season yesterday and today with temps in the upper 20's, low 30's. We had to wear hip waders because the ice on the sloughs was so rotten we were punching through and the creeks were running open. It should not be this warm in east central SD in January! We also saw about 100 snow geese that have been hanging around Brant Lake, they should be long gone. There are also lots of mallards and Canadas still here. At least they will have a head start on the spring migration.

Dwight, the blind is great. With that report its not hard to see why things are so slow down here. I am hoping for one more good front before our season ends January 28 and if we don't get it next weekend I am going to have a hard time finding the time to hunt anyway. Thanks again for the blind.
