im stuck at work and i need a feather fix for my aflickshun to our fine feathered friends sooo ARE YA GITIN ANY??

Elizabeth and I went out to our lease.
It was a slow morning..... warm and calm.
We set up on a levee with a burlap screen and some brush for a blind.
Neither of us really felt like wading out to a pit blind on a morning that really didn't seem like it would amount to much. Some guys hunted the lease yesterday and shot very little. We expected the same.

15 minute into legal, Liz broke out the coco.

Five minutes later, a threesome of Shovlers came by. A couple of quacks and they circle back over our left shoulders. Did you ever make a shot you just wished all your buddies could see?
Lizzie was being a good hunter and while keeping her head down, missed the shot. Well, she saw the splash.
I pulled though the drake and slapped the trigger. I saw another in my view just then. Both folded and landed out past the decoys. One at 50 yds and one at 40. Angel-dog made a nice marked retrieve on the first and a nice blind on the one out in the weeds.

I missed an opportunity on some teal 30 minutes later.
At 09:00 We called it quits and began to pick up. A friend walked up and we were talking when a Red Head landed 10 yds in front of the blind. I grabbed my gun and we all three began yelling at the bird to flush it. Both our dogs were ready to come out of their skins as the bird just started to slowly swim out through the decoys. Rick and Elizabeth were both jumping up and down waving their arms and shouting at the bird.
My first red head and he wouldn't fly. Cripple maybe?? Finally I couldn't stand it and apologized to Elizabeth in advance before I swatted it and Angel-dog made her 115th retrieve of the season.

Turns out he had been hit before. I found a fresh wound and the beginning of scar tissue in a breast while cleaning it.

I don't doubt your ability to take the long ones. You mil pilots are equipped with better than average eyes. From what I've read Chuck Yeager is one hell of a duck shot.

That little gal is turning into quite the duck hunter. Congrats on the fun hunt.

I didn't shoot them long. They were crossing left to right with an outbound vector at about 30 yds when the shot hit them. I figure I pulled the trigger at only 25-ish yds.

I have been blessed wtih good sight. It used to be 20-10, but is beginnig to fade with age.
It's down to 20-20 in my left eye.
