was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of a "zoli" shotgun it's made in italy 20ga mag o/u fixed barrel f/m gun picks up sweet but the stock has been changed even thow the gun shop says no that must be the way it came form factory . he will bore the holes for brierly chokes at $185 per hole and wants $660 firm on the used gun

comments?

Which Zoli, anitonio or Angelo? $600-$800 is going rate for a silver snipe, so it doesn't sound bad. Check Guns America though. Good guns, not top of the line but good quality Italian O/U. But why the briley chokes? That brings the cost way too high in my opinion for the gun. I beleive Silver snipes are chromoly bores, so shooting steel shouldn't be a concern.

not really concerned that its not a top on the line gun I have been wanting a 20 o/u that shoulder just right for a duck gun for some time now and that is what interest my in this gun. with the full choke I really don't want to shoot steel wanted chokes but yes I think that is high. he is just a dealer for those chokes .

anitinio zoli's demand more money than angelo's so you would need to check which one it is. there are a couple of each on GA so you should be able to get an idea. I would call other gun smiths that are familar with the guns about shooting steel through full chokes, but generally the Italian guns were made with better steel and methods and can shoot steel with no probelms.

it is just a personal thing, I have seen steel shot out of full chokes with no problems and seen others with mushroomed barrels so personally I just will not shoot any full choke unless it is a "steel full", that is just me, it may be fine but I would feel better both for me and I normally have kids in the boat also and would rather not take any chances

if the gun is stamped "a zoli" the receiver is a wave brunt blueing meaning it has "s" type swrils up and down on the receiver and is blued how do I know witch zoli it is?

"a. zoli", I am gonna run out of help for you here becuase my blue book states 'Its hard to determine which manfacture made A. Zoli" it goes on to say you have to determine which model it is. Well my book doesn't list Angelo models, you have to have 21st edition or older book. It looks like the only Antonio it could be is a "golden snipe" or a "delfino" the others have multi chokes and I think the golden is silvered reciever, but both only have top dollar 100% at $5-600, but my book 22nd edition is a couple of years old, and doesn't list a premium for 20ga which is generally the case. So without knowing exactly what model it is, its gonna be hard. Look at the GA guns and maybe check gun broker, auction arms and a google search and see if you see an example like this gun and go from there. I didn't see any that match your blueing descption though. Which sound more like case color or a indivual job. Sorry I can't be more of a help. I do know that even the Angelo's are good guns, but that one may be priced a bit high.
