Devlin 16 Scaup topsides rehab

I never ended up posting any build photos when I first started building my Scaup 18 some years ago, but I?m just finishing up a topsides rehab after roughly 18 years of duck hunting, crabbing, and other Puget Sound activities. She has seen a lot of miles, both on the road and through the water. She has been on three 300 mile trips on her own bottom, being towed by our larger boat, throughout the San Juan Islands for crabbing and fishing. Of course I did not take any before photos, and have not started to rehab the interior yet, but thought I would share some photos of the top sides.View attachment 187696DB-69EF-48EE-8D2C-37C68598D92B.jpegView attachment 8C3C8B91-D61D-402C-BF80-963420B2C7AF.jpegView attachment 6040F7C3-A99C-485A-9A7E-0108BDE01136.jpegView attachment 68414EC4-50B7-421B-9F14-E5617C591C98.jpegView attachment 0920EFAD-917A-4A14-87DB-A752B870EA4C.jpegView attachment E49FF2B6-C7FD-4E3C-AABC-3F25F94A88B1.jpegView attachment 07D88E60-126F-4EFF-AC13-23F1DDCDE7F1.jpegView attachment 8858156B-EE4E-4471-BF2D-414BEE38E331.jpeg

Beautiful work. Looks like the trailer got some attention too. Question. What are the rounds pads on the decks near the aft end of the cockpit?

Eric,

The pads are where my bronze deck cleats will mount. They do not serve any real purpose, just a detail I wanted to add.

Question for you - I painted the boat with Parker?s Marsh Grass, which is a very different color than my previous paint which was a much darker green, which is Parker, and I thought I recalled it being called marsh grass. I searched some posts on here and saw you referenced your duck boat paint also as the Parker Marsh Grass, and your boats are the same color mine used to be. Do you think I got a mislabeled can of paint, or is your paint actually the Dead Grass or even the Hunter Green? I was going to email Parker, just havent got to it yet.

I use Marsh Grass. Your boat looks pretty similar to my eye. Lighting and camera exposure can make things look different than they are in person. If somehow you did end up with the wrong paint it looks good to me.
