Dave, a couple of months ago you comented on your Stoger Model 2000. If I remember right you had good things to say about this gun. I have been looking for a new 12ga semi and thought I would touch base with you and see if you are still happy with the gun. The price is right and the feel is great if the reliability and function is there then this is my next gun.

Thanks for any info.

I got one last year and have been more than happy with it. I have absolutely no complaints. Shot sporting clays all summer with it to get used to it and used it exclusively last season for ducks and geese without a hitch. The only thing I have heard other people complain about is its recoil, which I honestly never noticed, even shooting 3" mags. The price is right, its well built, and I shot well with it too.

This a great gun for the money. I've been shooting one for the last two years, and it has been trouble free.

I also have a Stoeger 2000 and love it. It has the same inertia bolt system as the benneli's but for half the price.

Hi Mike,

Hope all has been well with your and your family, been awhile.

Yes, I'm still shooting my 2000. It's been a year now adn it still handles everything from low base to 3" with ease. I have yet to have a problem of anykind and I have yet to clean it......I want to see just how filthy I can get it before anything effects it's feeding of ammo.

It has the same I/D action as the Benelli at 1/3 rd of the price of a new Benelli. There is one difference between the two that I have noticed and that is in weight. The 2000 weighs about a pound less do to it's lighter stock. This may be a problem for some as far as felt recoils goes. I shoot mostly 3" steel in it for ducks and geese as well as 3" turkey loads and the recoil does not seem to bother me. With the 5 chokes that come with it for the base price of under $400 it's pretty hard to beat IMO. I know I sure do well with it when Judy and I shoot clay's. Bob Houk bought the camo model and I have the plain black synthetic model. Both have been good guns for us. I don't think there is a better gun out there at that price range Mike.

Thanks guys for the info on the M2000.

Dave, yes it has been a while. The summer months are the crazy time for me, 12-15 hour days seven days a week. But the good news is that Christmas is ONLY 5 1/2 months away!!

Please forgive my lack of manners for not asking how you and Judy are getting along....I was raised better.

The family is fine....the kids are growing up too fast...Aaron just turned 13 last week. He is now 5'9" and ready to streatch right past the old man. He got a new Charles Daly 20ga. semi auto for his birthday and with two boxes of shells through it he (and I) really like it.

Again thanks for the info and I hope all is well with you.
