Good morning, All~
A couple of years ago, I posted my way of making an off-season storage cover. Even though it's the time of year when we should be preparing for "on-season", I just built 2 more. These should have been made before the vessels sat out in the summer sun and winter snows, et cetera. The paint on both boats has suffered.

My process has remained largely the same.
Here is the frame. I used a 1x6 for the "ridgepole"over my 'glass RED~LEG - but went with a 1x4 over my friend's classic white cedar VanSant Barnegat Bay Sneakbox.

Pipe insulation protects both the decks and the tarp (along the ridgeline).

I used 1x4 common pine for the legs - but might go up to 2x4s on future frames.
The legs are not fastened to the ridgepole - they notch together. So, the frame comes apart easily and requires little storage space during the gunning season.

I use a medium or heavy duty plastic tarp. The spring clamps are serving as weights so I can trim the tarp parallel to and below the gunwales. Trimming the tarp to shape makes it much easier to prevent sagging or buffeting. If you do not have a sewing machine, you could "sew" the hems with staples or duct tape.

Here's the (mostly finished) cover on my sneakbox.

I still need to re-sew the forward end - 'tis a bit too tight!

I use shock cords (bungees) beneath the hull and light line to truss up the ends.

Here's the VanSant

A nicer fit over the bow.

All the best,
