Well it took a lot of work and lots of help. But we did it ! 64 wood duck boxes up and running. We placed them in swamps , creeks, lakes, river, back woods. On poles in trees, on state land , Private land, any land we thought a wood duck could be. But to me it all was worth it. We have already seen ducks checking the boxes out. So its in Gods hands now and I know he would want the ducks to be happy. So I like are chances . We can only hope that we will have good numbers using the boxes. We also took down some old boxes and refreshed some other ones. Eggs were found in some old ones and nesting in lots of others. Know matter how hard you try your going to lose eggs and ducks. In and out of the boxes. The other animals have to eat too I guess. But if you get any good working boxes and ducks live. Then you have helped way more then you think. If there is a few hens and they make it. Then next year they will nest and more ducks might live. We are only trying to help and nature will do its job to help them. To all of you that put boxes out thank you. To all of you that emailed me to say good job Anthony. Thank you! You guys and gals are the best. [size 4] I'm sure this added immensely to your enjoyment of the changing over of the seasons, and the arrival of Spring. Great job (again) Anthony!

Its like a season of its own. Heck I'm happy to get outside and do something. The younger guys do most of the heavy lifting. But I put everything together. We even had two men in their mid eighties put out boxes. It was so cool to see they still had the drive of a young buck. It think to many older folks give up hunting way to early. Its seems like Sportsmen Clubs do everything for kids. Which is great don't get me wrong. But heck! older people would hunt and fish if they had help. Anyway a story for a another day. Thanks my friend.

Congrads on your groups effort. Heres hoping they provide a good home for Momma Woodie! Come fall make note to send some of this springs hatchlings towards the Eastern Shore of Md. I,m not big on tourists but will accept the feathered ones with open arms!
