You should se the crap that washes up on our beach in the early spring. So many ice fishermen just toss their crap onto the ice and just figure it somehow magically disappears. Well it doesn't and I end up picking p a couple of trash bins full every spring.
On thing to consider when picking up others trash. I was cleaning up a spot I like to hunt close to home. Nice stream and a nice recreational spot n the summer months. I must have picked up a few dozen beer cans and upon coming back to the landing was met by a CO. He proceeded to ask me if I was drinking in the blind which I wasn't. He then asked why there were so many beer cans in my boat. Told him I was picking up others trash and thus the cans, and spent shells (which there were a few lead shells) and other trash. He wanted to call the cops to conduct a breathalyzer test which I said please do. Guess he was convinced I wasn't drinking. The spent lead shells he wasn't so sure about so he checked everything for other lead shells I may have stashed somewhere to no avail.
Moral here - picking up trash is great but what happened to me could happen to you.
