We have a backlog of items to auction and appreciate everyone for being patient while we get to them. The auction lineup is as follows.
  1. Mark Vanderhoof Canvas Eider
  2. Travelling Woodrow decoy by Dave Sikorski, photo journey log, and duck mount by Blake Wilson
  3. Multiple Devlin duckboat plans and video CD from Joel Mill.
  4. Mason Canvasback from Derek Zumwalt
  5. I'm sure I'm forgetting something
The plans are to run them close together so the donors don't have to wait any longer than they already have. We appreciate and count on donations for our existence and apologize if the period of time it takes to get an auction up indicates otherwise.

While I have your attention I'm thrilled to say that the recent donations we've received and the above will probably put us at a high water mark in terms of financial strength. That lets me know loud and clear how much you all appreciate and value the site. I thank you for the encouragement and affirmation.

Without further adeiu the first item up is a stunning canvas Eider decoy by Mark Vanderhoof. I'll ask Mark to fill us in on some of the details but the pictures speak for themselves. This in one very well constructed and painted decoy that would light up a room or stand out in your spread.

The bidding will start at $75 and the auction runs until Monday March 19, 8:00 Central. Thanks and good luck.

first off, many thanks to eric for putting this decoy up for auction. this site is awesome! just thought id leave a few details about the decoy. its a big bird. approx. 18" long, 10" wide and 6" body height. the decoy floats high and strong. it self rights with ease and is made to hunt. ive hunted some of these in maine coastal chop and they floated well. its painted with acrylic house paint and made with the best of materials including west systems. best, mark

Hi Mark,

Did you do this bird/pattern for the DCF pattern book? Or, have you done these before? I feel like I've seen that bird or one like it somewhere. Awesome eider man! I'd love to make a few of those. Are they hard to do? Have any build pics?

Nice job.

Nate

Guys, I have one of Marks canvas scoter decoys that Mark and I shot birds over last season, these decoys really stand out and ride great on the water.

In the off season they look great in the den!!
