I took a Beretta 390 12 gauge, put a 23 inch barrel on it, and a ladies stock..wife shoots it well... A 20 gauge, youth 870 express, is a reasonable choice for moderate cost.

Hi Steff:
I'm sure your daughter can handle the 870. Another advantage is the easy conversion to the "slug" barrel.
my thirteen year old grandaughter won't shoot anything else

I bought my boy the 870 Express Youth Synthetic this summer, got a great deal at basspro.
Overall, a nice looking gun at a good price. I like the fact it has the spacers to adjust the length of pull from 12' to 13".
He is 10 years old and light framed. It is still a little front heavy for him, so we have not shot it yet. But overall I think it will work great. I may even shoot it some next season.

what does height have to do with not being able to handle a 12 gauge. if her arms are too short for the stock, you can have the stock shortened. le petit stock.

Stef,

The 870 youth is a great gun. I bought one for my son with the extra full size stock. He is now 26 yrs old and 6 foot. I use this gun for small water. Good luck in your search.
