Get down and cover up-need ideas

Greetings,
Hope you are all well?
I was interested in learning how some of you hunt with a larger party?

I hunt coastal MA and hunt out of a old TDB 17 as our mothership with too many of my good friends.
Our party is usually 4 men and now 3 dogs-I know the size of the party can be an issue-thats why I try to hunt during the week while the others are at work!

We have a whitney 2 man sculler that has really helped us out alot-tows a full speed loaded to the hilt. We also have a busik 2 man-which we have not really utilized-mainly due to the fact that it tows like crap and weighs a ton-mainly used for sea ducks.

It seems that we always have people out of the boats-for one reason or another....

I am interested in ideas on how we can make this work better-we do well but really want to get more ducks and geese in the decoys?
I am convinced that we need pond boxes or ground blinds. I really like the box that is on the NJ waterfowlers web site-has anyone hunted out of one?

Anyone using an avery neo-tub on a ground blind?

Thanks in advance
Tim

Have you taken a look at our MudBox? Might just fit the bill. It's on the MudBox page of our website: www.lockstockbarrell.com
Let me know we can be of service.

Tim, I used one for a couple of seasons before I sold it. They are easy to build and work well. It is a good pond box to tow behind a sneak at low speed. Try to get on plane and it'll flip. You can load it with decoys and run faster, just make sure you try that on a calm day, or you will flip. It's design is not good for use while floating unless you stake it down, you can flip! It is not stable to use as a small boat. If you need a bunch of them, you really cant stack that many in one boat with people, they are just too bulky. Maybe you can lash one on each side of you TDB and stand one up near the bow in the cockpit. They are good if you're hunting muddy marshes, shallow ponds, or flooded fields. Most of the places where I hunt out of a boat, the ground is pretty firm so I now use a ground blind in areas without much cover.

Tim the pond box is the way to go! Has I have said we pull them with a sneak box or tender with the decoy rig in side them, they hide well and keep you dry and protected from the wind. It is great on the salt ponds as that what it was made for. Here is a photo from hunting out of one. you can build them with out a problem. If you need photos and dimentions give me a ring and I will get them off to you.

Thanks buddy

Tim when you go to build them look up sandwich core for building fiberglas boats, it is a foam core that is used like plywood. no rot light weight and will insulate you from the cold ground. Bob Hayden uses it with his Layout boat give him a shout.
