Life is "Oh So" Good!

Spent the early morning hours in Bev's art studio with my Canon and the 400mm f5.6 lens. Normally the birds are taking baths from first light until about an hour after sunrise and then that is it. I found out that the black-chinned hummingbirds did not forget the small waterfalls between the two ponds from last year. The first shot is what the photo looks like on the computer. The rest of them have been cropped. As you will see, there is a male and female black-chin. If the light is just right you might catch a glimpse of the male's purple gorget. It has an iridescence look to it. They use this to get the female's attention.

Ahhh---now this is the life! When you take 1 second (one thousand one) that has to be an eternity for a hummingbird. For them to be all stretched out just for a split second seems too long. I can watch these little tykes for hours.

I wonder if he got any water in his ear?

I kept this shot so you could see how beautiful her back is.

A penny for her thoughts right about then!
