Hey we are heading to Stuttgart soon and I'm curious how you boys are doing on ducks down there? I hope this cold front helps push some new ducks down. Talk to you later. HHG

Hank, have a good trip---Right now, it is sunny and 62 here--skeeters seem to me the only thing flying, so i am playing around in the shop-Be careful down there-watch out for snakes!!!

ducks have been very spotty. folks that got them are having fantastic hunts... other people within a couple miles of them arent even popping a cap. Unbeliveably bad for the first 2 weekends for about 75% of the folks Ive talked too, most didnt even go this past weekend. Hoping for this front to be a grand passage... not counting on it though. travis

Hank,

What Travis said. Some are doing well, most are not. Ronnie Ladd is north of where you'll be; they are seeing a decent number of birds, but everything is call shy and acting like late-season ducks. They are starting to use hte Cache River Refuge finally, and this rain we are getting will do something, especially if we get lightning/thunder. I saw little to nothing on the Arkansas River in central AR this past Friday.

Boss told me his partner in their duck club did pretty well this past weekend at their club south of St. Charles. But again, call-shy, nervous, here-all-season, educated birds.

You staying in Stuttgart or ? If Stuttgart, you'll be 36 miles from the house. If you're gunning with Hathcock, he's got my cell number, and y'all give me a call. Maybe we can hook up for supper...I'll get Laura to ride over there with me...

We had a pretty good hunt on Saturday east of Stuttgart, north of De Witt. 70+ degrees, no wind, and no clouds. We hunted a rice field and ended up with 15 ducks (mallards, gads, widgeon, teal, and pintails) along with 5 specs.

I was tickled most about the geese and letting Brinkley wear herself out in the mud.

George thanks, Tavis thanks for the info. Hope to find a few birds. Rick, I will be with Steve and I don't know what he has planned but I'll see if we can get together when we get down there. We are duck and deer hunting. Hope to fill the freezer and get a few ducks. Jon looks like you had a good hunt. Looking forward to seeing the south again. Talk to you guys soon. HHG

When you planning on getting here? We're all watching this front... highs of 30-32 in st louis predicted after this front will move birds... before the front or after is anyones guess. will it be the big one, dunno, think their aint enough snow for that... but it'll make it duck season hopefully. next 48 hours hope to have some wonderful news for ya. travis
