What do ya do in off-season?

Well, if you're me, you go out and buy a new gun.
Picked up the Browning Maxus, 28", 3 1/2" chamber, camo.
Can't wait to break it in tomorrow with a round of sporting clays.

Off season? What's that? I take a week or two off after the season closes to recover and then start getting ready for next fall. I'm still never as ready as I want to be. I use the boats year round for hunting/fishing/crabbing so the service/repair gets taken care of regularly.

After hunting all season it takes me most of the summer to get the "honey-do" list caught up and the gear ready for the upcoming season.

I boat ride and work in the lawn.

Going to get my pilots' license renewed after 28 years of inactivity... and scout for ducks for Morton this winter.

Fly fishing for trout and bass right now. Getting ready for AK King Salmon season this July. Never guided for Kings before. Its always best the first time! Playing with my kids whenever, wherever I can.

Just about the time I've gotten caught up on sleep from waterfowl season I start scouting for turkeys. This year I hunted all but one day of the Ohio turkey season. After getting rested up from that I'm starting to get gear cleaned up and organized for next waterfowl season. And of course there is always dog training and the occasional fishing excursion!

Spend alot of my time Stripah fishing , with a little fly fishing for trout thrown in to break up the days, this year the striper fisihing has taken a back seat to my rod and reel repair bussiness , there just not enough time for everything ! I have enlisted my nephew to help with my kara build for Andrew to lay in this winter .

Off Season ? There Is no off season for me. We go right onto the Windy, Its a year round job. During the hunting season were getting ready for the charter season and when fishing were getting ready for the gunning season. We,ve already put together another 118 stuffers for our pits. I've got to do a major repair job on one of our pits. When it came out of the ground it was busted up pretty good. I've got another floating blind to build and my son wants me to build 2 more laydown floaters in addition to getting the duck boats spruced up. I'll do all that one day between trips. Not bad for a guy thats being honored tonight by the Montauk Chamber of Commerce as an OLD TIMER. I've been doing this for so long sometimes I even scare myself
