I met this man a year ago at this rodeo. Found out that his great grandfather came to the New Mexico Territory in the 1870's from Scotland. Roy's son and his wife will be the fifth generation to take care of this ranch. He has invited us to their ranch next year so I can photograph the branding operation in the spring. I'm looking forward to that.

If a facial expression and reading eyes can tell you anything, I think we can safely say that he is very pleased!

I overheard this conversation as the two ol boys rode by. "Hey, where has Bob been? I haven't seen him in a coon's age." The other guy said, "Well, he told me that he just got out of the hospital with two brand new hip replacements and by next year he wants to be back out here roping again." Old cowboys "never" die!

Pretty cool Al! I remember barrel racing when I was a kid...or should I say packing my knee with ice since I was such a great judge of distance!

Take care,

Ed L.

Thanks, Ed. I forgot to put this one in. When she came around that barrel, she had to lean the opposite way of the horse to try and get her left leg out of the way. That cost her some time but not much.

Good stuff Al, and it reminded me to look up the county fair schedule so I can make some plans of my own...

Thanks, Don. I know that you and your wife will have a good time.
