This is for all the carvers out there. I would like to get into carving with cork but I don't have any ideas as to where I can pick some up. Can you all tell me where you might get yours and something as to pricing? Thanks

Check out Willy at www.theduckblind.com I have ordered basswood from him and he sells about anything a decoy carver could need. I plan on getting one of his started cork kits with the video for Christmas

ANother vote for Willy & Di at the DuckBlind. Top notch folks who will go out of their way to help you get started!!!!!!

Yep, Willy and Princess Di. He is going to have a 12 days of Christmas sale pretty soon..don't know if cork is going to be on it or not but, he usually has some great carving and painting stuff. Tell him Harker sent ya...won't get you any better deal but it will give him a chuckle.

I have orderd from The Duck Blind (I have a shipment coming this week) but there are others out there. Here are a few including an art supply for brushes/airbrush/paint:

The Mighty Layout Boys have some good resources on their site as well. The big thing that I have been told (and found out) is to make sure you check around on prices. It also appears that in some cases, you can find better pricing in non-carving supply chains. I also have a list of books that have been recommened to me as well if you are interested.

Also, ther runamuck guys if you live near one of them.

They're a bunch of good guys that love to carve decoys and make boats from what I can tell.

They have a web page too.

Dick Blick (how would you like that name?) is where I get my artist oils and brushes . here is a link. www.dickblick.com
