Opening day with my youngest son.

Let's see if I can figure this new forum out. Opening day went well. The next nearest hunter was over a mile away. I finished my limit when a pair of Florida mallards fell for the deeks. Austin scored his second bird of the day when the hen of the pair circled back to see what happened to her boyfriend. On Sunday the birds deceided to test our pass shooting skills (full speed, downwind). I managed 3 birds before they started to decoy. Austin scared a few birds really bad. He has been going hunting since he was 3. He is amazed how fast the birds can fly now that he is a shooter.

Way to go Austin. The big green nasty looks good. It's snowing up here today. It should be 25degs tonight.

Get a bunch this year you two.

How's the mud motor working out for you? Not giving up on the air boats are you?

The mud motor works fine but I do miss the airboat. The area that the birds are hanging out in right now is a 13 mile ride deep into Area 3. At 17.4 mph it is a long ride holding on to the tiller! When I find the right deal I'll get another airboat.
Austin is a very picky eater. He eats fish readily but has refused to try duck. Tonight I coaxed him to try some ringer. He took a bite ...chewed it slowly ... and then looked like that character from Green Eggs and Ham ... Say! ...I do like ringer Sam I am. He says he is now a duck eater.
