In checking with Beretta this is their answer: That gun uses a detentball and spring assembly to the cocking handle in place. To remove this handle with the index finger and thumb, grasp the handle at the top and bottom with your fingers close to the bolt body. Squeeze your fingers together wheile pulling, and the handle willpull straight out. No buttons or lveers need to be pushed.
