I love upland hunting, but....

I can't wait until the season starts up here in RI... Dog's in shape, she put up 4 pheasants yesterday and 2 on Saturday which isn't bad for public hunting.

Boat's ready, stuff is ready - going out Friday for puddlers in the salt.

Eric, the site is awesome, you guys did an excellent job. My only regret is that I have to watch what I say now as these posts will hang around forever. So I can't make fun of Morton anymore which is a bummer.

So, here's to the new site and to the new and improved Andrew ; )

I know the feeling. My membership in the "Loyal Order of Grouse Hunters" was questionable, so we went woodcock hunting last Saturday. Found lots of birds, but they were spooky, lots of hunters in the woods.

The real reason I've missed so much upland hunting this year is the new boat. If I have a free moment, the boat goes in!

Getting my RI bonafides in order, let me know when the divers start showing up in the big bay.

Best,
Dave

Dave,

Morton and I are going this Friday out in the bay. Brant season is short this year - their numbers must be way down up north. We're going for puddlers. I don't expect we'll see much action but we'll keep an eye out for divers for you.

What are you interested in? Broadbills? GE's? and that ferrari of the sky - buffies? Seriously let us know and we'll figure it out for you.

Can't wait to see your boat and that dog of yours.

A.

Good luck out there. I think we are doing one last scoter hunt in Long Island Sound this Saturday. Both of our zones (north and south of I95) are open as of this a.m. We had a great puddler hunt last Friday on the CT River, but won't be repeatable until we get some WEATHER!

I love all my diver children equally... even the Buffies! I may have the only 10 bird cork Buffie rig in a 200 mile radius.

Have a great Thanksgiving. Having a "turkuckhen" with Craig on Thanksgiving, and gunning Thursday Friday and Saturday with my son Andrew. I'm bringing Roasted Mallard with sage and Cortland Apples for an appetizer. There will be Labs and fuzzy dogs and big Pinot Noirs and ducks falling everywhere!

Looking forward to a Rhode Island rendezvous,
Dave
