Cassie has passed on. I loved her so much.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. She sounded like a great dog. Try to keep all those good memories in mind.

Eric:

I was shocked to learn this news. I know you must feel a huge loss. You can use my dog anytime as she is dieing from boredom.

Sorry for the unexpected turn of events and Cassie passing on.

I had a much loved bone-head of a male lab that died of cancer at 13 years old, one day a vibrant, crazy hunting fool, even at 13, and a few days later gone.

Matt

The good ones never last long enough!
Only dog people can really understand your loss.
Pray you'll find comfort in her memories, John

Sorry for your loss. It's nice that recently she was still doing what she loved. She was a proud looking dog.

Tim

My thoughts and prayers go to your family Eric, and especially to Thomas. Rosie (Cassie daughter) and Benny (Cassie grandson) got some extra treats and pats last night. Cassie will be missed but never forgotten.....

Brian

Eric,

So sorry for your loss. Like many here, I also remember the day you got Cassie. What a wonderful pup she was, and the stories you told about her made her feel like she was one of our own.

She in God's great flooded timber now, eyes to the sky as mallards and gadwall drop through the canopy....

Very best,
Nate Grace

Eric,

There is nothing I can say but to let you know how sorry I am for you and your family. Owning a dog, any dog weather it be a hunter or not, is one of the great joys in life. Saying good buy when they pass is one of life's toughtest events....

Eric, Thomas and family,

These wonderful animals never live long enough. Their departure from our lives is never easy for us.

I have enjoyed all the pictures and stories you have shared with us of Cassie.

Tom

Eric, very sorry for your loss. Thoughts are with you and your family. You've got so many memories to keep and may they provide you comfort in the coming weeks.

You know, that trip was a highlight for me, even though it was a bust in terms of "duck killin'". Wood ducks and teal on the Cache, and the Arkansas river trip.

Her swim across the Arkansas was one I won't forget. Most dogs would have turned around after we planed out and hauled it across the channel to chase that cripple...she would not give up. I kept looking over my shoulder in disbelief...chug, chug, chug...

I freely admit two things...I kept an eye out for other boats or a barge, "just in case", because your dog was not worth a crippled bird to me. I was ready to fire up and run to her before anything could happen. The second thing is that at some point, I wanted to see that she had the grit to swim out there and help, "okay you two...I'm here, it's time to get the damned bird....show you how it's done."

I hope you're doing okay over there.

I'll miss that pup...she had heart.

Sorry to hear this Eric. I enjoyed the time we spent with Cassie. She had a great spirit. When I broke the news to my daughter I thought she was going to break out in tears. She will be missed.

I am not much for words, but I'll try.

A well written, grateful and gracious tribute.

I've been thru it several times and will be going thru it all again soon. My "Old Dog" is twelve and a half.

My writer friend once wrote, and I find it appropriate- "I guess if there's silver lining to the life-span of dogs, it's that if they lived as long as we do we might only get to love one or two in our lifetime". (LuAnn Stuver-Rogers)

Sorry for your loss. Godspeed in you and your family's recovery.

Eric, I know words will not make you feel better at this time. I'm am so sorry to hear this at such a young age. Prayers from Washington State tonight for you and your family.

Sincerly

Gary March

Eric,

Hate to hear for you and your family. Cassie sounded like a class act and she was a looker. Hang in there bud.
