Cassie has passed on. I loved her so much.

So sorry to hear this Eric. I dread the time when I have to go through that again but the memories you made with that sweet girl was well worth it and I'm sure that if she had it all to do over again, she wouldn't change a thing.

Eric,
I am saddened by her passing, remember the good times. Rest knowing she no longer hurts.
Prayers to you and the family.
Bill.

Sorry to read about the loss of your beloved pet and hunting partner. Working dogs are truly special. My condolences to you and your family.

Sorry to hear that Eric. I don't know how your season has gone since I ran into yall in December but she sure bumped up her "ducks retrieved" count stealing gads out of my boat 8 to 10 times in that one conversation.

Eric,
Her picture is beautiful and I can see her spirit in her eyes...all business when it mattered .........you keep that spirit always.

Eric,
very sorry to hear that news. You and your family are in our thoughts tonight as you go thru the days trying to fill a hole that just seems so empty.
I relate to the dedication you mentioned in your post. The great dogs stick in your memory for life. Cherish the thoughts of the good times and keep the boys close in the days to come.

So sad to hear this Eric. Cassie was a great dog, probably the best i've ever had the privilege of hunting with. I remember the first time I ever got to share the boat with her. I was in front of her as we headed to "the rootball" to shoot goldeneyes and bluebills and every time i turned around to say something to you she would try to lick the skin off my face. It eventually got to the point of me having to grab her by the collar in order for you and me to have a conversation. This was the same day she stole my sandwich i had bought at the gas station, I swear she just liked to torment me. There was no denying the drive that dog had. Everytime she saw somebody in camo or messing with decoys she would get excited. I will always remember her and cherish the times we spent together in the field. She will definately be missed.

I'm not sure what to say. Myself and my family are deeply touched by your kindness. The outpouring of support has meant so much and helped make a painful situation better. I especially appreciate those posts and PMs from friends that hunted with and knew Cassie. She was a special dog and this site is a special place. There is a lot to be thankful for.

Tomorrow I will move this thread to the Tribute forum so Cassie can be remembered with the other friends we have lost.

I'm humbled.
