Devlin Scaup Project for sale (SOLD)

I am selling a Devlin Scaup 16' duck boat project that I cannot finish at this time. The entire hull exterior is finished and needs the interior and decks finished. The boat is made from the best okume mahogany plywood, fiberglass and epoxy resin in the stitch and glue method. Along with the boat, you will get the following:
6 gallons of non-blushing epoxy resin
enough fiberglass to finish the boat
3 full sheets of okume mahogany plywood
misc okume, and mahogany lumber
complete construction plans
construction book
construction dvd
the cradle the boat is sitting on.

At this time I desperatley need the garage space more than I need the money from this boat. I am selling everything here for $500 firm. You will need a trailer to haul this on. I can help you load it, but I cannot deliver it. The boat is in St. Helens, OR. Please PM, email shaver@spiritone.com or call 503-209-9238 Thanks, Aaron

PS... I have been an active member on the "old" forum and you can even see my profile on the old "role call" list. This ad has the Mod's Blessing. Thanks.

Sorry unfortunate circumstances have brought on the sale of this project, I hope you are able to find a good home for it to be finished.

Best
Chuck

If you were on the midcoast this would be TOO good to pass up! Somebody is going to get a great deal!!! Good luck to ya on your sale.

I wouldn't think twice about taking this in a heart beat if it wasn't 2,051 miles away - yes I checked. I can't imagine a way to get it to Wisconsin that wouldn't be cost prohibitive.

Well guys, keep brainstorming, because I would like to see this go to someone that can finish it and hunt it.

The circumstances of me getting rid of this aren't unfortunate, just Unexpected! (possible twins on the way, and too small of a house to accommodate them, my business and this boat)

My wife just suggested a raised garden......Using the hull. Somebody please help me make sure that doesn't happen ;)

Aaron

No, No, NO! raised garden. Get an old wooden row boat with no bottom for that, this must get completed and hunted. Are you SURE you can't just put it in storage for a bit until the kids are born then get it out and finish it. So much work already in it that I just can't see you tossing the whole program.

Sorry, kind of made an assumption from a generalized conversation...though it is unfortunate you can't finish the boat, hopefully will make for a very fortunate situation for whoever gets this deal.

I agree with Pete. Too much time into it. Flip it over outside, block it up off the ground, and cover well until you can finish. Unless, of course, you can deliver to CT.

I am nearby and would love to finish her off but I am not going to have time and don't need another boat. Wish I could help out and hope you can find away to make the best out of the situation.

Trust me I tried and tried to justify driving from Alabama to Oregon to help you in your plight. Good luck with your sale!

How long is the cradle?
Wondering if my trailer is long enough......
And if I can take on another project.......

The cradle is just a hair over 10' long. I hope you can find the time for this project. There is almost as much money in the solid brass half round on top of the keels as I am asking for the whole boat. I really need the garage space and hope that the price is enough to entice someone to take this boat asap.

I would also consider a trade for a marshrat or similar fiberglass or poly layout boat. Or (this is a longshot) I would love to trade for a fiberglass scull boat.

for those interested in that boat, try you ship . com i used it to get my duck wrangler on a trailer w motor from missouri to south carolina, close to 300.00. you give origin and destination length wieght etc they bid to ship your item! it worked very well for me hope this helps.

I too checked the mileage and its about $900 in gas for me. Wife said NO! I tried pointing out that we could see the west... Those are such nice boats and you have done a great job on her so far.

If RD doesn't want it, Ill take it. I live in the Seattle area. I've been a forum member a LONG time but rarely post anymore. Let me know if RD doesn't take it. pascook@yahoo.com
