Guys, gals and everyone,

Thanks for all your support, it is much appreciated.

Yes, Jack and I have many memories which will grow more special over time. Jack was more than a good hunting partner; he was a close companion who often knew my thoughts before I could utter them. A nod of my head while bagging decoys and he would more to the other end of the boat. A silent wave of my hand while sneaking thru the woods and he would advance up to my position and hold steady, as I once again, moved forward in my stalk.
For sure he will be missed, but it was time.

Even tho I thought I had prepared myself, it was still an emotional decision. Your words have been comforting and[/url] I thank you all for responding.

I know how you feel buddy. We all share this over and over. What a very nice tribute Dave. Hitch

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I've never met you or Jack, but I know the pain of loss.

Dogs are family. And they just do not live long enough! Sending up a prayer for you and those who shared your love for Jack. So sorry . . .

God bless Jack's soul. Even though I never met Jack, I followed your Jack stories on this site and sure felt like I knew the old boy. I'm so sorry for your loss Dave and am deeply saddened by this news.

Dave -

Most of us have had to let a friend go and I can see from the great images that Jack was your friend and trusted partner.

Your words and images have done him proud.

Hope the new pup measures up and that someday soon you have only happy memories of Jack.
