Good afternoon, Eddie. Chaco gets that crazy eyed look a lot. If he is just running with the other labs it will happen. He is a "go-getter" for sure. Glad you liked the shots. At around 8:30 this morning, Bev and I will take him and Salsa out to the lake. We have not taken this combination before and I'll be interested in how each reacts with the other.

Now that's intense.

Mornin, Bob! I am finding out that this 4 1/2 month old young male is a package of dynamite. It will be most interesting in January when he sits next to Chili in the blind on his first duck hunt. Chili is my instructor and sits like a stone for hours---never moving unless there is a duck down.

He sure looks like he has a lot of natural drive.....he going to be a good one....

Thanks, Mark. He seems to be a natural and I'll be keeping an eye on him. I like what I see so far in his demeanor and will continue to train right up until I take him hunting with Chili. I am not sure I can take him with Pepper just because both temperaments are the same----"Alpha"! The good news is that Cayenne is much like Chili, therefore giving me a good option. Chili is #1 in a "laid back" personality. She is very passive at home but when in the duck blind, stay the hell out of her way when the bird is down because she becomes the ultimate when speaking of "search engines"----unlike Google!

Why are you going to wait till January to take Chaco out?
I would think taking him in early season would give hime more time with Chili the pro?

Thanks George for what you said. You are right. I will be taking him in November. He will be 7 months old then.

I know you guys train different to us guys in the UK but I would,nt consider taking him out at that age, dont forget he is still only a Baby, let him have his puppyhood and play, with more training sessions like you are doing and fore go this season has far as he is conserned and it will pay dividens in the long run. Amber is now 17 months old and she is just ready to go out for her first season on the marsh.

Thanks for sharing that advice, Eddie. It will be taken into consideration. I have much to do before he goes into the slough.
