Whats on the workbench in August?

My work bench is very crowded at the moment and with a little over a month until hunting season's start I am working a little on everything just about every night. But I don't have any pictures of the bench right now to share. I promise to get some soon.

Here are two pictures to share for you guys though. The first is a little to big to fit on the bench but its taking up some of my time for sure. My 10 year old is helping me on it. Good father son project.

Over the weekend I managed to sneak out and do a little trout fishing. Managed to catch a few but mostly it was about getting out in the woods alone and taking in the surroundings. Here is a pic I snapped.

Brandon...let's see some of those decoys painted up!

Here is my Delta Waterfowl Ruddy Duck. I thought this might stir up the bidding a little bit for their chapter dinner. I'm proud to be included with the other fine carvers that carved Ruddies for the event. Check out Pat's sticky above

My decoy is hollow cedar with three applications of oil paint, rigged and ready to hunt. It's a chubby little decoy that is nice and wide. Hope you like it...

I am so looking forward to getting my hands on this bird : )

Its unfortunate that most of you guys won't be able to ogle, in person, the line up of birds we're going to have at the banquet. I've seen photos of the bird Willy is sending and it's awesome, the feather detail on the Ben Heineman decoy is just sick, Tim McIntyre's bird is a great cork gunning decoy, and Gary Lutterbie's Drake in breeding plumage is everything a decoy should be.

Been gracing my mantle for a couple of weeks. I think Nancy's getting used to it. I'm kinda liking the smell of oil paint in my family room. We appreciate you getting this done for our Chapter. All for the ducks! Pat

Received a beautiful set of wooden spoons and a great sounding Turkey box call from Rutgers today.

Are going to make nice additions to our banquet items as well.

Paul...thanks for the extra effort needed to get these items finished on time for the event.

Tim

I just finished these two today. The duck is going to a friend for a benefit for a family member. The butt is going in my rig. I'm going to try having more feeding birds in my rig. I did a feeding hen a couple months ago, this butt and now I'm working on a headless feeder.

A not very good photo of a pair of Greenwings painting I just finished. I need to work on backgrounds a lot.

Tim the excellent job on the ducks is definitely eye catching. That takes away from what you think is a poor background. I would put it on my wall

spent a few hours at Pete's last night and learned that blending light gray and brown is frustrating. but i was able to get it the way i wanted it to. my girlfrinds is also coming along. i cant wait to see the finished birds

Thanks Bryan and Tom.

Chris that is turning out nice.

Tom I bet those would look really cool in a stream with a little current.

Very good use of those old pontoons, Brandon. Have you got the spot on your lake picked out for it yet?

Back to work on the "Sarcophagus" decoy to start the month off. Spatter painted the head first so I can paint over the "collateral damage" mess it leaves on the rest of the bird. . . .
Its coming along nicely Bob....I cant wait to have it with me!
