CWA (Connecticut Waterfowlers Association) is having their second this season, and ever, retriever training day on Saturday August 18th, at Nod Brook WMA in Simsbury, CT. In addition to the technical expertise of Marc Couture, Hunt Test Judge Jack Belicka has volunteered his services as well. The purpose of the day is to provide a training day for experienced trainers, plus introduce new trainers to training and help them to a good start training their dog. We had a great day on our kick-off session back in May. We had around 15 trainers and 17 dogs in attendance. If you are new at training, have your first dog, don't have a dog but thinking about getting one, do not be intimidated. Please come. You will learn a lot. We intend to have live flyers for the experienced dogs and are trying to get pigeons for the young pups. We can use a few volunteer gunners as well if you want to show up and work a gunning station.

Fees: We have permit fees, per dog fee to the Nod Brook committee, plus popper loads and other consumables. We were in the red on the first session. This go-round we will be charging $10 per dog which we intend to be a break even point. Any excess will be banked for equipment for next year's sessions. Flyers (ducks) will be $15 each, first come first served. Pigeons for the pups will be someplace between cheap and free (TBD).

Out of state guys, feel free to join us.

Please do not respond here to sign up. Please send me an email to duxndawgs@yahoo.com with your name, number of dogs, number of ducks or pigeons.

Bring CASH the day of, exact change preferred.
