deer hunting blizzard of 06

Illinois second gun season proved to be a hard hunt. Thursday started out as a pretty good day, partly cloudy temps in the 30's. But all that was about to change. Temps were falling most of the day by 4 in the afternoon sleet had turned to freezing rain. By the end of shooting time I was covered in ice which I had to break off of myself. I awoke the next morning to blowing and drifting snow and still more coming down. I stay in a little town called Augusta, the intersection of 2 small rural routes. At 5 in the morning jumped in the truck and headed out. I made it about an 1/8 of a mile out of town and decided to turn back. The road was impassable with 5' drifts and white out conditions. Waited till 8 and ventured out again, it normally takes 10-15 minutes to get to where I hunt, took an hour. No plows but someone had blazed a path which I dutifully followed, 4wd all the way. By this time the snow had stopped falling and we had 16" on the ground. The good thing about snow is those brown bodies sure do silloutte nicely. Deer werent moving around much having been beaten down all night. Saw a few spikes and basket racks but no shooters. This was pretty much the norm for the rest of the weekend. My friend Kurt shot a nice 9pt. I took a doe on Sunday to supplement the one I had from first season. here are few pics me in the stand and my buddies deer:

Did you see "Place Inline images in post with markup syntax, e.g. [inline filename.jpg]" ?

I just checked and you use the Avvanced Editor. So what you need to do is click anywhere in the text box, then click the little framed mountain pic in the toolbar, then choose inline, then choose your uploaded pic. You'll see your image after that and so will we.

still nothing! might be because I'm at work, corporate Nazi's might be preventing me from posting???? Oh well try again later.

Now I understand, I need a photobucket account? I dont have one so it will take some time. thanks Eric when i get a chance (when the boss leaves me alone for awhile) I'll try it.

This shows how to upload an image

uploadingimage.jpg
Step 1 is to browse and find the image. Click on the browse button, find it...also click on the 'inline' box right beside the browse button, then on the upload attachment button. Those don't have arrows in the image, but are on the same line as the browse button

Step 2 once the image is uploaded, click on the inline box
Step 3 click back inside the document you are editing to get the cursor into the spot where you want the image to show up
Step 4 click on the 'image' button in the tool bar above the editing window and a dialog box will pop up.
Step 5 choose the 'inline image' option and your image(s) will appear as options to select on the dialog box

doesn't look like a lot of snow but believe me when you start walking thru it you know it.
Thanks Eric for helping me post these. You have to explain things slowly to engineers like me. LOL
