Woodrow's Kansas Hunt

Took Woodrow out for his Kansas hunt this afternoon. Didn't kill any ducks, didn't even shoot, but it was a really neat afternoon. The sky was clear and the temperature was around 20 and the windchill was in the single digits, so I went to the hot water outlet at the powerplant .

The water temp was around 40 so there was a bunch of fog rising off the water, but the cold air was holding it close to the water so the fog was only about 20ft high . It was really cool to see the ducks flying in and then disappear down into the fog. While I was picking up my decoys the wind whipped up a fog tornado! Never seen such a thing before!

As the sun set it cast beautiful shades of red, pink, and orange off the fog and the steam/smoke out of the power plant. As I drove home I hoped that Woodrow had enjoyed the afternoon as much as I had.

I will post pic's this weekend.

Well good Rocky, I'm glad you didn't make Woodrow suffer in icy water. He's had a pretty busy schedule this season and I'm sure he appreciated the warmer water and lack of shot thrown at him. Sounds like you had a great hunt just being out with Woodrow for awhile. We'll be looking forward to the photo's of your outing with Woodrow.

By the schedule that I have, he should be heading to the Heart of Dixie next week. Is he going to be sent to me or Eric?
