I can't sleep so might as well start this thread.

I've been working on watercolor feathers lately. A Mallard and a Green-wing feather.

Happy February, now everyone can get back into the carving, painting and building mode with many of the seasons ending.

I've been there buddy, might as well get your brushes dirty when you cannot sleep. I like the feather paintings, what size are they?

Can't sleep because you are trying to think of puppy names perhaps?
I sure like those feathers, Tim.

Thanks. They are both about 4.5x6 I believe. They probably show up a little larger then they are on a computer screen.

Al the bad thing is that the two I liked the most looked like two different names. :)

Dave I think Mike is right "[font=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]I see the beginnings of a mud motor!!!" :)

Mike, that is hilarious! Maybe you have something there. Wonder how hard it will be to kick start it in chest waders?

Colin, they look great! Are you going to hunt with these or hunt for a place to put them in the house?

dc

Thanks Dave! I plan on hunting with these, and to keep making more for next season. I think hunting over some of my own decoys next year will make the experience that much better

Excellent Colin! Make sure you make an extra so that you can get in on one of the decoy swaps that this forum does. I enjoy hunting over my own carved decoys, but I LOVE hunting at least once a year with decoys I have acquired over the years from many, many carvers. Maybe one day, I will have a genuine Colin Fitzpatrick in my rig.

Colin nobody should be giving you criticism toward your birds. You yourself can be critical of your birds, those of us on the outside should just give you some critique and then offer the information to help you improve.

As functioning gunners those will work very nicely.
