Spring Snow Goose Guides.
I would appreciate if any one out there Could recommend A Good guide service with good gear & has been very successful on some of are SPRING SNOW GOOSE HUNTS Like some of the Hunts we see on the Sportsman Chanel somewhere in the U.S. Thanks PAUL

Paul, check out Del Bay guide service. This gentleman specializes in snow goose hunting in the NJ, DEL, MD. areas.

I would think most of the real good guides are booked for this season. If I was wanting to hunt Missouri I would go with Ira at Habitat Flats, or Jon at ShowMe Snows. Dakotas I would use Jeff with Antidae Wingshooting Adventures

My uncle mentioned my hunt with Del Bay Guide Service. We went for two days in Dover, Delaware and were very disappointed.

Day 1 the owner, Jerry, put us together with a group from Florida. Our group was 7 guys and about that many from Florida. Jerry laid us out on recliners in white tyvek jumpsuits and yes... we had a ton of snows around, but very few decoyed into the rig. When a few did come close enough it was a 15 gun massacre, I wasnt sure if the few birds we killed died from being shot, or fell out of the sky from being hit by 15 shotgun blasts. I would not have grouped two large parties like this together... we were spread out over 100 yards from one side to the other and it was hard to hear the guide call shots and communicate if you were at the end with 5,000 snow geese overhead. Not only that, but the group from Florida was shooting birds that were decoying to our side of the rig, well out of range and flaring them.

Day 2 was worse. Not only did Jerry send us off with an inexperienced guide, but he put is in a field at the end of the Dover Air Force Base runway. There were plenty of birds flying, the only problem was most of them belonged to the US Air Force. We never had a snow goose come within a mile the entire day and the one flock of Canada Geese that came by the guide blew the call on and we never shot. It was a great airshow, but that wasnt why I was there.

I have been on a LOT of guided hunts, waterfowl and otherwise. As soon as Jerry got our money, things started to go downhill. I have heard there are a few guided offering March hunts in the Finger Lakes region of NY. Try googling that, I can tell you there are usually a lot of birds in the area, my old college roomate lives up there and he sees tons of them.

Where is the like button. Habitat Flats is Awesome!! You won't meet a nicer bunch of guys than Ira, Tony and Aaron. They book a lot of hunts because they are so very good at what they do. They fill up fast.

Just from what I've seen online and in videos alone Habitat Flats looks like a bucket list place to hunt.

I could recommend some folks, but somewhere in the US is a little vague.

Habitat Flats is a great guide service, top notch, but I would guess booking a year(s) in advance would be the norm.

In the Central Flyway in the spring it is all about weather and timing of the migration, allow yourself a minimum of three days.

Make your phone calls in June/July, ask about historic peak migration periods, group size, dogs, mobility and most importantly what you can expect on an "average day". In terms of mobility, nothing beats being on the "X" and this takes work. By far the majority of the guide services hunt static spreads in areas of high concentrations of birds and this works. Some young energetic guide services will chase the "X" and will be successful, you need to be flexible in this instance as this could mean driving 20-100 miles, and it in the end it could be a bust, or you could shoot more shells in a day than you thought possible. That is spring snow goose hunting.

I am anxiously awaiting a break in the weather here in Nebraska, snow cover and subzero lows have been the norm lately. We took advantage of the frozen ground last weekend to haul decoys in and cover the blind with some fresh grass, might be a couple weeks until the first few flocks start poking around.

Good luck in your quest of getting under the tornado, there is nothing like it in the world of waterfowling.

Two years ago I hunted with Kenny Stablen of St. Lawrence River Outfitters. We hunted just outside of Watertown, NY. Him and his son ran the operation. They were pretty good. We're trying to book with them again this year.

Talk with Matt at Frontier guide service, He has hunts in VT and Lake Champlain area,NY. Google him

Good guy, hard worker, super serious about killing Snows.
