David,
I also have an AA Broadbill that I built in 2000. This one has had a rough time of it including coming of the trailer after being run off the road. Punched a couple holes in 'er and busted the motor tiller bracket. Took it home and patched it right up. Love the boat but don't like the frames that keep it from draining clean. You can see building pics in the "DUck boat specs" of this page. I run a 25 on it and on a good day get 28 mph on the GPS. Tried a 35 but it came off first run out, oh well.
Shiny side up,

About how many hours did the broadbill take to build? A local hunter here bought the plans some time ago and has asked me if I will build it. Were there any difficulties ?

Thanks

Thanks for the compliments guys...I WISH I could take credit for building it but I must confess...It was built in 03' by a gentlemen in Vermont...... Ever since I began my quest in owning a sneak boat I had my eye on a the AA broadbill....Its hands down one of the most versatile boats on the marsh...In my area of the Atlantic sea board there is NO type of gunning I can't do with it....From laying out on the open bay for divers, gunning the sedges for brant to hiding in the tidal creeks for puddlers.....Its been a great boat to me..Its very seaworthy and I feel quit safe in her...I only run a 15Hp and she gets up and goes just fine..I'd like to upgrade to a 2 stroke 25(we'll see what my x-mas bonus is) :) I solved the drainage problem by drilling 2 small port holes over the summer and than sanding and fiber glassing them...Works good just have to keep them from getting clogged with debris....Diver mania starts this monday!!! And I hear the bay is starting to fill up with em!!! Hope the pooch can keep up with me! :)

I'll post pics and talk to you guys soon!(off to chase some back creek puddlers in the AM)
