Another successful morning

Started out this cold Saturday morning with a chilly 15 degree boat ride up river to a different favorite spot. Boy did we choose well. Had a mixed bag of gadwells, butterballs, 1 hollywood, 1 ringedneck, 3 mallards and a pass shot at the first goldeneye of the season. We even bagged the first river widgeon, and a pretty drake at that. Everyone else around did not shoot much, after 8 years I think I am finally convinced that on the big water it is all about setup. A different look for the birds I think is very important. Had the usual run and gunners starting at 7:30, but that only helped our situation. We even had two guys come through our decoy spread at 6:15 while we yelled at them and they did nothing but wave and get behind us about 50 yards to set up. Fortunately they got stuck in the ice and decided that this duck hunting thing isn't all its cracked up to be. Never had someone with the nerve to actually run through the spread, but on the Tennessee River I guess anything is possible. Well all in all I guess it was just great to be out this morning with good friends...

Eric the "ghetto" is back in full effect. This morning we were truely some bad mofos.

Looks like I missed a Good Time! But I am glad to hear that ya'll put it on them... And its good i wasn't there to show out for your unwanted visitors.... You know how I ROLL...

Peace Out!
Victor
