I'm in your neighborhood. Went from Skagway earlier today and are spending the night in Whitehorse. Tomorrow back to the US and spending a couple of nights in Dawson City.

Sure is beautiful country up here. You are indeed a fortunate man.

Just curious, where in the Yukon are you again?

Mark W

Mark, I live in Porter Creek which is part of the big city of Whitehorse. Give me a call at 867-633-2945 if you have time.

Will have to get together next time I am in Whitehorse.

We had a hard time getting from Skagway to Whitehorse as the road had a rather large mudslide across it. We considered a ferry to another town and then a longer drive to Whitehorse. We got word the road reopened and headed out. Quite the mudslide.

The beauty up here is something I've not experienced. And the story of the stampeders back in 1897 or so is beyond belief.

We are in Dawson city till tomorrow and then off to Denali for a few days. The. Anchorage then home.

Would have been nice to meet you.

Dawson City can be pretty fun. Klondike Kate's for breakfast is good option, check out the Trapper's supply store on front street but don't buy anything if you can help it (pricey), the show at Diamond Tooth Gerties is worth it and "The Pit" is probably one of the top 10 nastiest bars in the the North. You gotta go in there just to say you did.

A midnight picnic on the Dome is cool.

Enjoy your big trip, and too bad we couldn't get together. It would have been nice to meet you.

Are you pausing long enough to breath a little? I gather you are on a tour bus.

If you are on a bus, and headed from the border to Denali without going through Fairbanks then you may end up going across the state on the Denali Highway. Alaska's favoritest dirt road. Please provide me some caribou herd density updates. My season opens on 8/10 up there.

It will be broken clouds or rainy this whole week, so don't be too upset if you don't get to see the huge lump of granite in that national park.
