Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, in honor of the 80th year of "The Stamp" we all love. Please feel free to name your 3 favorites, and a brief story and reason why? It will be very interesting to see how many members respond, and your choices. A celebration duckboats.net style...

Vince~

Just to get the ball rolling, I've copied most my earlier post here. Which are YOUR Top 3????

[font=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]I just took a quick tour through this month's DU then the USFWS website (where I got these images). I "narrowed" my list down to my Top Ten

Here are 3 from my Top 10....I still like ing Daeling's original...

The Hoodies are the first stamp I bought:

But the Brant always struck a chord with this Atlantic Tidewater gunner....

As did this pair of Blacks.

and this is as good a canada image as any of them - I remember watching in awe as they winged north when I followed my father afield during his end of February rabbit hunts. Wondering where they had been and where they were headed.

nice topic- My wife and I were on a day trip yesterday and when we passed Montezuma refuge, I mentioned I need to get my stamp, which reminded me of a long lost friend (lost to cancer way too young), he came from a family of dedicated duck hunters, his grandfather kept all of his stamps after they came out as did his dad and then he himself. He had them framed with a mat that had many cutouts yet to be filled. I wondered if either of his sons kept it going.

Each of you gentlemen made some Very Good picks. King Buck is still my first, second and third, will be tough. The new issue of Hunting & Fishing Collectibles has a very good article about Federal Duck Stamps by Steve Irwin, M.D., and shows some of the very best.

"A single duck had never comprised the winning design until Albert E. Gilbert's 1978 drake hooded merganser" - Steve Irwin, M.D.

I have every stamp from 1965 on, and hope to get many more...
