Shawn' lady Isabella (Belle)
It has been a couple weeks since Brian Story helped me let Belle not have her last day be her worst. She was no doubt a way better duck dog than I was a duck hunter or trainer. It was her God given ability that always amazed me and made me proud. She has hunted with a few folks on this forum and sometimes without me along if I was out of town. She loved to go and would hunt for you just like me.
More than her love of hunting though was her love of my family. I have a 13 year old daughter who never knew a day without her. She stood guard over our home ready to "lick to death" any intruder. Her leaving has left a giant hole in my life. Someday, maybe I will have another dog. But I know I will never have another like "Belle Girl". Rest good girl...we'll go hunting when I get there!

The photo in my avatar shows her in her prime and is in a frame on my desk as I write this. Great Dog!

So sorry for your loss.

Treasure the memories, you'll never forget them.

May she rest in peace.

Sorry for your loss.
Seems like our DHBP friends are losing some great partners this Fall.

Shawn, sorry for your loss. It seems that she gave you 13 years of great and lasting memories. Hold on to them.

Best - Paul

Shawn - I know the sting. Hang in there friend. Savor the many good memories God blessed you with Belle. I find that there aren't many days in the marsh where I don't think of mine and we lost her 10 years ago. But, they are all blessings turned into good memories.

Take care. Pat

Shawn,
Hang tough, like so many here we know how you feel. It does get better. Try to replace the bad times with the good memories.
