Federanko boats?

I know almost nothing about them but I have seen a few around. Same lower as a Roy boat with a different upper is what I am told? Just seeing what you guys know about them, good or bad. Thanks for the input.

Mike Braden on this site owns a 14 footer. I have seen a couple up by me the last few years and every guy I talk to loved it two of the guys said they sold their high boats for the federankos

I picked her up last night. I loved my Roy boat but needed more room. This boat seems to fit what I was looking for to a T. I was misinformed though, the hull is DEFINETLY not the same as a Roy boat. This is a stepped hull that seems like it will "dig" in and handle better. Overall it seems to be a really well built boat. I can wait to get her out on the water for a ride and some dog training.

Matt,

Sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner. I had my 4th annual Delta Waterfowl banquet and was focused on getting that taken care of.
I have a 14 Federanko and have ZERO complaints. I had three boats prior to this one and Donny's boat was exactly what I was looking for. I run a 40hp Yammy with electric start/tilt/trim and she runs like a beast. The hull design is great for allowing you to go fast and make really tight turns.....while you are going fast. My TDB always had a tendency to crab walk on turns and I hated that. I can throw the tiller hard left or right and the hull cuts right through the water without skipping (crab walking)
I hunt two guys and my son plus a dog sometimes out of it. I have a 12 gallon fuel tank up front for better weight distribution. I just re-did the cedar strips last season since they were original and my boat is a 2005. Other than that no issues.
I guessing that you bought the 12 footer that Donny was selling. I was tempted to buy that for my son but Donny is thinking about making a 16 footer and if he does, I'll be moving up to that since my youngest is turning 7 and I'm gonna need more room. Donny is a great guy and is always willing to help and answer questions.

No problem, thanks for the response. I didn't but the boat he was selling. I bought one of his 14 footers from a friend of his. I think I am going to really enjoy this boat.

No website. I'm sure someone has his number and I'm told he will talk to anyone interested.

That's not really my problem, no offense. If there is "butthurt" about a boat the guy/guys need to grow up.

I was looking at some images of these boats and couldn't get a read on the hull. Does anyone have a picture of the bottom of the boat.

Looks like a pretty cool ride.

I will be ungrassing the boat, replacing the grassing rails and doing some painting over the summer. I plan on actually taking pictures this time, which I never do! I will post up pictures when I do

I haven't actually seen the hull either on these boats but my gut tells me there a take on one of the many racing hull mini boats out there. Mini Hawk and there was a baja and checkmate version as well as others. Most of which were 12 and 13ft lengths and probably why we dont see anything slightly larger around.
