June - What's on your Workbench?

Wow Pat...you are a machine. I love to see the armies lined up like that.

I finished up the St. Charles Ruddy. Working on some hooded mergs now.

I want to carve just can't find time right now. If it would rain all day I could probably paint..

Brandon,

You mean that everyone doesn't get to sit around whittlin' all day like us old retired farts? (Sutton included now)

It has been nice & cool here this week. Overcast and some rain as well. Perfect days to hole up in the studio.... but I put the heater away too early!

I did get a good start on the hen to that pair of mallards this week:
Spattered the head first & blocked in the base colors:

Wow Pat, Thats some serious Carving going on there! Nice.

Geoff, That Ruddy sure is pretty . It was good seeing you closer to your home turf!

Bob, love all your work, but the head of that Mallard is awesome. It Really grabs my attention.

Hey Larry, That Broadie may be your best yet.

Lloyd, I like the shape of that brant. It Will look cool painted.

I was late this year finishing up my Turkeys, but I am satisfied with them. Although I didn't kill a bird over mine, there's always next year.

that's ALOT OF FLOCKING Turkeys.......should you ever find yoursekf in need of help in schlepping them all over the mtn. drop me a note.....I'm a pretty good "pilot" when it comes to things like that and could make short work of "getting the flock out of there".....

Some REALLY strong work here as usual! Wish I'd found this site a few years ago.

Couldn't decide which side pic I liked best; oh well, y'all like pictures as much as I do I think. This bird is headed off to the captain that helped me catch this, back when I was young, skinny, still had hair and occasionally got the opportunity to stick my fly rod in some fun places. It's not the best shot but the only picture I have of this fish before we sent it off to the taxidermist.
