Young hunter passes

I just got back from my second trip to North Dakota for the month of July. This time I wasn't catching Walleyes, and cooling off. Unfortunately this trip was to see off a young friend and fellow duck hunter, Cole Weckerly. He was 32 years old, had a pretty young wife and three kids. Cole was a dynamic young man, and a rising star in the agriculture industry. He was extremely talented in everything he did, whether it be hunting, fishing, farming, or just being a good guy. The accompanying picture was my last hunt of the season in N.D. last year. Cole is second from the right. Captain Doug Heaton is on the right and Cole's uncle Hans and cousin Ian on the left, and I am behind the camera. Cole and Doug had one of the best goose and duck rigs in the area, and we have had many memorable hunts with them. Next year there will be big hole in the gang that will probably never be filled! We will miss you Cole. Rich
Ps. there are no ducks, geese or walleyes in the Knox North Dakota area!

Some of the nicest folks I have met in life are NoDak residents. My condolences on the loss of your friend and hunting partner...

So sorry to hear the news Rich. I believe he's the same fella that some folks here in SC hunter with in ND. Incredibly sad. Thoughts and prayers for the family.
