looking for some people to hunt with over the next couple of weeks primary on lake eufala, seminole, or blackshear....i had what i need.boat, dekes, ect, just there is no one around here to go with.. so anything would b a help thanks

The reason there are no hunters in Georgia is that there are no ducks in Georgia. I lived in Roswell for 18 years and tried to find decent hunting but couldn't. Good luck in your search.

I used to live in Albany and the previous poster is correct is there are no ducks to speak of in southwest Georgia. The lakes you mentioned are in southwest not southeast Georgia, so if you are in southeast Georgia then head to the coast there are a couple good w.m.a.'s over there.

I have to agree with the other posts. I lived in Georgia most of my adult life before moving to SD. I hunted waterfowl hard while I lived in Georgia but, other than wood ducks, the ducks are few and far between. There can be some good shooting on the coast. If you live in Statesboro, I would take the time to really explore some of the big WMAs with bottomland hardwood swamps and beaver ponds in SE Georgia and also the Rhetts Island area at Darien. Sometimes you can find some mallards, teal ringnecks and blacks in those places. Seminole is a long drive and gets hunted very hard, but a lot of ringnecks winter there. I never liked the crowds of run and gun nitwits that cover the lake up in duck season. Blackshear is not worth the time. Scouting and lots of boat and road time is the key to finding birds where you live. Good luck.

Ga ducks are very limited unless you count resident gesse and wood ducks, I agree if your in Se ga head to the coast.

check in over at www.georgiawaterfowler.com and ask if anybody will ride with ya

yea i miss typed that in the title i ment WEST haha i live on the east coast in statesboro and i have hunting a few WMA's over there but not much more than woodies and a few greenheads

where at on blackshear were u hunting i normally limit out on woods every time i go plus geese, teal, mallards and bunches oh hooded mergansers. but not many good WMA's on the west side i hunt more private cypress or gum swamps over here which are really great shoots..

I live near the coast on the Satilla River and I can tell you there are not too many ducks there. I have seen some near Brunswick though.

Has anyone hunted the Altamaha refuge? I was wondering how it was.

GAry

I hunt the Altamaha most every weekend and then some. Usually with poor results. This weekend temperatures in the upper 70's. Had the usual results.
