Go Fly A Kite, Decoy Related.

Here are two projects I've been working on, one is decoy related and the other is "kind of". The weather's finally cooperating and travel is getting back to normal. Lake and pond levels are off the chart in many parts of Oklahoma and the birds are starting to move. I hope I can get this one painted and in the field before the season runs out. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Mike, that was pretty cool. I've been toying with how to create some wing flap on my full body goose decoys without resorting to battery powered aka noisy machinery. Nicely done and well presented.
Happy New Year.

In today's Internet economy, you can buy just about everything and anything. I just Googled "kite parts" and found all the components, rods, fittings, etc that this is made from and all for around $10 plus shipping. Additionally since I've learned a few things about making them "in the round", I working on an idea for a turkey decoy for this spring.

You're right, it would not be part of a walk in rig, but compared to the other gear we lug, the rod doesn't present much of an issue. We have a blind site at our municipal lake for the entire season so once in, the rod and conduit stay, along with a lot of other low value items.

Mike--nice idea--may have to try that. Sounds like your season has been a lot like ours, except we don't have any flooding here.

Great idea ! God has certainly blessed you with talent and patience to make those neat decoys, then you add in the motion effect too.

I don't think they'd be that cumbersome to pack in considering everything we carry now. Great job !
